That’s where our team comes in. And that’s where you come in. We’re currently looking for a Senior AI Data Scientist to join our Business Insights team.

Scope of the Role

As our AI Data Scientist, you’ll build the intelligent systems that elevate how we understand our customers, improve our product and operate as an organisation with AI-powered solutions that solve real problems. 

We’re early in operationalising AI and ML products across e-conomic, meaning you will both develop solutions and help shape best practices, release pipelines and scalable foundations for future development.

Your work will sit at the intersection of data science, ML engineering, product and strategy.

Your Impact

You’ll turn advanced machine learning and LLM technologies into products, agents and insights that genuinely enhance analytics and decision-making across the organisation, translating complex data into intelligence teams can rely on.

More specifically, in this role you will:

• Build LLM-powered applications that transform how teams work.

• Work closely with stakeholders on managerial level to fuel our organisation with strategic ambitions.

• Shape AI agents that automate decisions, triage anomalies and generate insights at scale.

• Ensure transparency and reliability so stakeholders trust the intelligent systems we deploy.

• Partner across Products and business stakeholders to embed AI where it matters most.

• This is not a “ticket factory” role. It’s a role where you explore opportunities, bring clarity to ambiguity, and build intelligence that becomes core to how we operate.

Your Work

A typical week could include the following:

• Integrating LLMs with classical ML models to create hybrid systems (e.g., forecasting with LLM explanations).

• Partnering with your team of data scientists, data analysts, BAs and product teams to integrate intelligence into real operational processes.

• Delivering strategic insights to our products organisation to shape commercial ambitions 

• Designing and shipping LLM-powered applications - from RAG systems to insight copilots or automated report generators. 

• Owning explainability and documentation ensuring teams understand and trust model behaviour.

• Applying technical expertise to support the Product department in making data-informed decisions. 

Your Team

You’ll join the Operations, Analytics / Business Insights team: a group of analysts, data scientists and product-minded thinkers who combine strategy, analytics and technology to shape e-conomic’s next chapter. Andrea is leading the team that consists of around five people, and sits within a Product organisation of 200+ colleagues.

The data and analytics landscape is evolving and the team is increasingly acting as internal thought leaders on AI, data modelling, product analytics and intelligent decision-support tools across the organisation.

You’ll collaborate closely with:

• Data scientists

• Business Analysts

• Product teams 

• Strategic stakeholders across the organisation

• Platform and engineering teams supporting future AI/ML infrastructure

You’ll work at the intersection of strategy, analytics, ML engineering and product.

The systems you build will have a visible impact on how decisions are made across the organisation. In close collaboration with stakeholders, you will determine whether their needs are best met through raw data extracts, dashboards, or more advanced analytical solutions.

Who we’re looking for

This is a senior role meaning we imagine you bring solid experience with several of the following, but you’re always welcome to challenge our own assumptions.

Core competencies

• Experience building LLM applications (e.g., RAG systems, copilots, intelligent agents).

• Solid understanding of LLM architectures, embeddings, prompt engineering and RAG design.

• Ability to build hybrid systems combining traditional ML + LLMs.

• Experience designing or deploying AI agents for decision automation.

• Roughly 3+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying or operationalising ML or AI systems.

• Experience or a profound interest in establishing MLOps/LLMOps practices, including CI/CD and monitoring.

• In depth Python and SQL skills 

• Solid BI tool proficiency (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) used for collaboration and integration rather than as a primary responsibility.

Recruitment process

Initial screening: Brief initial chat with Hanne, Talent Acquisition Partner, about your motivation and to align on compensation.

1st interview: Meet Andrea and Daniel, Senior BI Analyst.
Interview duration: ~60 min.

2nd interview: Dive deeper into the technical aspect of the role with Andrea and Daniel. You’ll receive a case plus a personality and logical test for you to prepare prior to the interview. At the end of the interview, you'll get to meet Andreas Rafn, our Product Director.
Preparation time: ~4 hours and interview duration: ~ 2 hours.

If all interviews align, we typically follow up with two short reference calls as part of the process.
