At e-conomic, we are looking for a Head of AI Product Development to build a newly established AI department and turn AI potential into customer-facing products, agents, and workflows that are shippable, maintainable, and valuable.
We have the scale, the data, and a strong engineering foundation. What we’re building now is the AI product development setup around it: the team, the stack, the delivery framework, and the standards needed to create real customer value.

The AI Transformation space

AI gives us a new opportunity to support Danish businesses in a more proactive and valuable way. For e-conomic, this means developing AI products and agentic capabilities that can become a natural part of how our customers work with accounting and business processes.
To do that well, we are bringing Software Engineers, Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and QAs closer together in a newly established AI department. The goal is to create a strong product development setup around AI – with engineering quality, customer value, and with our delivery at the centre.
You will step into a mature product company with a strong engineering culture, but also into an AI area that needs you to be shaped. The stack, the delivery framework, the standards, and the way we build agents at scale are all areas you’ll be part of leading.
In other words, this is a greenfield opportunity inside a company with scale, customers, and ambition.
The Role
As Head of AI Product Development, you’ll lead a newly established AI department with Engineering Managers, Team Leads, Software Engineers, QAs, AI Engineers, and Data Scientists.
Your leader will be Jonas, Director of Product Development, and work closely with the Head of Engineering, product leadership, and teams across the organisation.
If we had to describe the role through three core responsibilties, they would be:
Set the direction for how we build:
Together with the Head of Engineering, you will shape the technical direction for our AI products and agents. This includes the balance between proprietary models, RAG architectures, external LLM APIs, and agentic frameworks.
Build the AI Product Development Team:
You will lead a newly established department with Engineering Managers, Team Leads, Software Engineers, QAs, AI Engineers, and Data Scientists.
A key part of the role is to shape the AI Product Team as a strong hub for our most advanced agentic workflows. You will bring different disciplines together around a shared product direction and create the leadership rhythm needed to move from exploration to delivery.
Raise the standard for execution:
You will make sure our AI products are built with engineering discipline from the start. That means clear standards for prompt versioning, automated evaluations, observability for model performance, reliability, deployment frequency, and sustainable use of cloud and inference budgets.
Your experience
Experienced Engineering Leader: You have worked as a Head of Development/AI or similar. You’re used to leading leaders and managing large organizations.
AI Fluency: You have the technical depth to challenge senior engineers on AI architecture, and you understand context windows, RAG, vector stores, model trade-offs, and agentic frameworks.
Leading with clarity: You create clarity for your teams while things are moving, and you can translate a high-level ambition into structure and execution.
A Change Leader: You can rally teams around a new vision while handling the friction of changed tools and expectations.
Pragmatism about AI: You focus on solving customer problems and delivering value – not just chasing the newest model.

The Interview Process
Applications are reviewed continuously, and we invite candidates for interviews as we go.
Initial screening: Brief initial chat to learn more about your motivation and align on compensation together with Juliette, Talent Acquisition Partner.
1st interview: Meet up with Jonas to learn more about you and to discuss the role and vision (~60 min).
2nd interview: Dive deeper into the role with Jonas and a leadership colleague from Engineering. You’ll receive a case and personality in advance for you to prepare. Total prep time: ~4 hours, and interview duration: ~105 min.
Finally, we might invite you in for a round of meet and greets with colleagues, and ask you about any outstanding questions you or we might have.
If all interviews align, we typically follow up with two reference calls as part of the process.
